‘Members will have the opportunity to meet Christy at this year’s annual meeting’
ACLP has a new executive director.
Christy Levine
Christy Levine takes over from James Vrac on June 1.
Like James, Christy is a senior vice-president at the Academy’s management company Kellen. She is a longstanding association management professional with more than 20 years of experience specializing in managing medical associations.
Her career journey has been marked by a commitment to advancing the missions of various health care-focused organizations, demonstrating a passion for fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and achieving measurable results.
“I am eager to carry on the work of James, collaborating closely with the Board and community leaders, to advance our strategic vision and continuous expansion of the Academy,” says Christy.
James announced his retirement at last year’s ACLP annual meeting and has been working part-time to support the Academy until a new executive director was appointed.
“Although no one can replace James, I feel confident that Ms. Levine will do an outstanding job in managing the Academy,” says ACLP president Madeleine Becker, MA, MD, FACLP. “I have had the opportunity to work with her and am impressed with her enthusiasm, attention to details, and collaborative leadership style. The Board welcomes and looks forward to our work together.
“Members will have the opportunity to meet Ms. Levine at this year’s Annual Meeting in November. On behalf of myself and the Board, we wish James a happy and restful retirement.”
The Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is a professional organization of physicians who provide psychiatric care to people with coexisting psychiatric and medical illnesses, both in hospitals and in primary care. Our specialty is called consultation-liaison psychiatry because we consult with patients and liaise with their other clinicians about their care.
With nearly 2,000 members, the Academy is the voice of consultation-liaison psychiatry in the US with international reach.
Please browse our website, read our journal, Psychosomatics, and come to our annual meeting which is in November each year. In 2020 it will be a virtual event – see www.CLP2020.org for more details.
