Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / VA Boston Healthcare System
ACGME Program ID: 4092440001
The one-year fellowship in Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Psychiatry is co-sponsored by the Harvard Medical School Departments of Psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the VA Boston Healthcare System. The program is built to foster strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of how psychiatry intersects with other areas of medicine. Fellows rotate through both inpatient and outpatient settings at BIDMC and the VA.
Our training is grounded in the growing need for psychiatrists prepared to care for an aging population with complex medical, psychiatric, and substance use conditions. We aim to develop the next generation of C-L leaders, working within a diverse and inclusive environment that values collaboration and clinical excellence.
Fellows work closely with teams in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Transplant, Oncology, Ob-Gyn, Surgery, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine. Subspecialty exposure includes:
• Memory Disorders
• Reproductive Psychiatry
• Addiction Psychiatry
• Cancer Care Psychiatry
• Heart Transplant and Advanced Cardiac Therapies
Two positions are available each academic year. Fellows are appointed as Clinical Fellows in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and receive a $7,500 stipend to support education and professional development.
There is no call requirement. Fellows interested in additional clinical experience may pursue moonlighting opportunities.
