Description of Program

The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/ Weill Cornell Medical Center’s Consultation-Liaison Clinical Fellowship Training Program (ACGME Program Number 4093531020) was first established nearly 50 years ago in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of MSK. It is the largest CL Psychiatry fellowship program in the country, and is notable for its focus on cancer as a model of illness, its highly active research environment, and its nationally-renowned teaching faculty.

Fellows spend the majority of their time in inpatient and outpatient clinical training at MSK, with two months at New York-Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center (NYP), one month in the first half of the year and one month in the second half of the year. Fellows have numerous opportunities for mentorship as well as formal and informal individual and group supervision at MSK and in the community, along with supervision by Cornell faculty and general CL exposure during NYP rotations. An optional second year offers opportunities for further development of clinical and administrative skills as well as more participation in research if desired, with three months of elective time that may be used for research, or clinical work at MSK or New York-Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center.

With competitive trainee compensation, housing options, and support for visas, MSK welcomes applicants from all background and regions.
