The ACLP Executive Committee has approved the creation of a C-L Division Directors Forum to provide a more immediately accessible professional support network for C-L division directors to assist them in navigating shared administrative challenges.

The forum expects to address a wide variety of common administrative questions of C-L Directors, based on the challenges they face at their local institutions. Some examples of the kinds of topics the forum expects to address include:

• Faculty Affairs in C-L Psychiatry including clinical productivity; academic development, scholarship and promotion for C-L faculty.
• Institutional Practices, Policies and Procedures such as levels of nursing observation for high risk patients; treatment over objection in patients lacking capacity, protocols for management of severe substance use disorders.
• Staffing and Service Development like C-L staffing ratios; business proposals; and interdisciplinary models of C-L staffing.

The forum will be kicked off with a session at CLP 2019 in San Diego this November. Look for more details in an upcoming newsletter.
