And new Board directors elected
The Academy’s gavel was ceremoniously received by the new president, Madeleine Becker, MD, FACLP, during the business meeting.
Members voted in favour of recommendations made by the Nominations Committee for new ACLP Board directors:

Brian Bronson, MD, FACLP, chair of the Division Directors Forum, was elected to a first three-year term on the Board.
Ann Schwartz, MD, FACLP, chair of the Academy’s Education Committee, was elected to the position of Secretary.
Kewchang Lee, MD, FACLP, was elected for a first three-year term on the Board.
Phil Bialer, MD, FACLP, automatically rotated off the Board having served his term of office.
Executive director James Vrac, who has announced his retirement from next spring, was presented with a gift of appreciation by outgoing president Maryland Pao, MD, FACLP. James has been with the Academy for the past decade. Dr. Pao described him as “our brains trust.”
