Burn & Trauma Injury SIG

Burn & Trauma Injury SIG

Members of the Burn & Trauma Injury SIG – with different experiences, from different centers, and with various levels of expertise – will bring together C-L Psychiatrists and other mental health providers that care for patients with burns and traumatic injuries to advance the clinical, educational, and research aspects of this subspecialty of C-L psychiatry. Our hope is that the work and collaboration fostered within this SIG will serve as a platform for the development and implementation of a more robust and formal subspecialty of C-L Psychiatry dedicated to patients with burns and traumatic injuries.

SIG Chair: Eric Golden, MD
SIG Vice-Chair: Erica Hatch, MD

Goals and activities

  1. Create a supportive learning environment for C-L psychiatrists interested in the field of burn and trauma injury psychiatry to discuss challenging cases and management strategies.
  2. Provide opportunities to network and collaborate with other C-L psychiatrists caring for patients with burn and traumatic injuries.
  3. Through review of the literature, discussion of current practices, and collaboration in research projects, C-L psychiatrists will work towards establishing best practice guidelines for the subspecialty of burn and trauma injury psychiatry.
