ANNUAL MEETING COMMITTEE
Chair: Chris Celano, MD, FACLP

Preconference Courses
Chair: Marian Fireman, MD, FACLP

The Preconference Course Committee is pleased to share some exciting changes for this year. Updates this year will be a series of pre-recorded lectures that will be posted online starting in October as a lead-in to the Annual Meeting. Look for announcements as these are released. This year’s Skills courses will be presented on Wednesday morning, November 19.   This will be an exciting morning with a variety of options to choose from. We are pleased to again present Dr. Philip Muskin’s Hypnosis course as well as courses on a wide range of other topics including Substance Use, Psycho-oncology, Reproductive Psychiatry, Reflective Writing, Moral Injury, Addressing Hospital Violence and Starting a C-L Subspecialty Service. It should be a great morning and we hope you will join us. We encourage attendees to sign up early for these courses as some do have a limit on numbers in order to make sure these are interactive courses. Please check out the program for more details on these courses.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Leo Pozuelo, MD, FACLP

Mentorship
Chair: Scott Beach, MD, FACLP

The Mentorship Subcommittee continues its planning and operation of programming designed to promote mentorship for members of the ACLP community at all stages of training and practice. Ongoing formal opportunities include: the peer mentoring drop-in group, career consultations, a medical student mentorship cohort group (in collaboration with the Medical Student Education Subcommittee), and the longitudinal ACLP Trainee and Early Career Psychiatrist (ECP) Mentorship Program. This past year, we matched 75 trainees and ECPs with mentors in our longitudinal mentorship program. Our subcommittee has co-sponsored two webinars so far in 2025: Best Practices for Developing 2025 Annual Meeting Submissions (3/11/25) and Best Practices for Applying for ACLP Awards (4/22/25). Members have also collaborated to submit for publication an editorial on mentorship to JACLP. Subcommittee leadership has established six workgroups, ensuring continuity and leadership for core initiatives.

To optimize the efficiency and sustainability of our mentorship programs, the subcommittee is collaborating with the ACLP Board to identify a digital mentorship management platform that can automate matching, support participant engagement, and track program outcomes. The subcommittee, in conjunction with the Residency and Fellowship Education Subcommittees, is planning a project exploring reasons for C-L Psychiatry fellowship pursual among trainees, as well as enhanced collaboration with SIGs’ leaders to help elevate in-group mentorship.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Chair: Lisa Rosenthal, MD, FACLP

The Education Committee is happy to report that the Education Subcommittees are—as always—extremely hardworking and productive! There are multiple submissions to the Annual Meeting, publications, and policies in process, and educational products available on the ACLP website because of the work of these subcommittees.

Interprofessional
Chair: Molly Howland, MD

Again creating the popular preconference APP Skills Course for the Annual Meeting. Starting APP mentorship drop-in groups and other leadership and networking opportunities for APPs. Also developing a survey on the educational needs of non-psychiatric clinicians.

Lifelong Learning
Chair: Christine Pelic, MD

Working to make our Annual Meeting MOC credits yet again (an unsung benefit of the ACLP Annual Meeting)! This group also contributes to the ACLP online Journal Club, helps translate Board Certification requirements for our membership, and soon might be working on other types of educational content and certificates for the ACLP. Please think about joining this essential subcommittee!

Medical Student Education
Chair: Jeffrey Zabinski, MD

More than 100 new medical student members of the ACLP have received personal messages from our committee this academic year! The @cl_psychiatry Instagram account launched just over a year ago and already has nearly 1,000 followers. Data from the national survey of clerkship directors will be presented at the upcoming ACLP conference as part of our effort to understand and advance C-L Psychiatry education for medical students. Lastly, we have upcoming podcast episodes that will launch focused on high-yield C-L topics for medical students.

Online Education
Chair: Dustin DeMoss, DO, FACLP

This essential subcommittee works hard to make our website functional and create enduring content. Have you heard the podcast?

Residency Education
Chair: David Flips, DO

Planning, coordinating, and moderating the long running ACLP case conference webinar series! This committee also coordinates updating, new acquisition, and peer review of multiple trainee-focused educational materials for ACLP, including the popular How To guides and C-L subspecialty didactic powerpoint curricula—see the ACLP website for these excellent resources.  This committee also sponsors educationally based workshops for the Annual Meeting and collaborates with other educational subcommittees in authoring peer review educationally focused manuscripts.
